What is it like? A barbaresco! It has the signature aromas of rose petal, black cherries, and a touch of vanilla. At the time of writing this (mid-2017) it is still a young wine with tannins still slightly edgy, and some of the tertiary flavours yet to be evolved. If you like younger expression of Nebbiolo, then it is the right age already. Do open at least 2 hours and even half a day ahead to let the tannins smooth out. It is worth the patience.
What is it like? An approachable Barbera with a rather intense juicy tangy red plum flavour, touch of vanilla and mild tannins. Take it with you to a BBQ, a Sunday lunch, or a leisurely dinner with friends. The good acidity makes it a good companion with pasta or roast meat. And doesn't it look gorgeous in purple :)
